GB Energy: and our anachronistic monarchy

Rate this post

The creation of GB Energy sounds like a very positive move from by new Labour government, and indeed it should be! But…

… it means that 12% of the profits from it end up in the pocket of King Charles III!

Unless of course the government just takes the Crown Estates back into public ownership. That would reverse the armed land grabs made by Edward III in 1337. More on that below.

Sir Alec Douglas Home’s main claim to shame was gifting our royal family the vast majority of Britain’s seabed in 1964. I go into further detail on this and the anachronistic Crown Estates in my

The last of the toffs to make it to PM. He lasted less than a year

book British politics is broken, BUT…‘.

I quote a small section from page 232:-

‘Home passed a bill called the ‘Continental Shelf Act’ in 1964. It gave the Crown Estate precisely the rights it had earlier no legal rights to at all.

This cretinous failure of a PM lasted less than a year but his actions will cost the British people billions until our new Republic of Great Britain takes it all back.
Since that time the seabed once part of ‘Commons’ has been slimily grabbed by the Royal family who have made millions from it. For fuller details on this crime, I urge you to read Professor Guy Standing’s superb article published in Prospect magazine in July 2023.’

Another small quote from my book~:

‘King Edward III created The Duchy of Cornwall in 1337. This Duchy together with the Duchy of Lancaster are more accurately described as feudal land grabs by armed gangsters in powerBoth Duchies are immune to most of our Statutory law and Common law because that’s what Edward said back in 1337.’

Ed Miliband said: “This new partnership will help accelerate the deployment of the clean energy we need, help create good jobs in our country and generate wealth for the taxpayer.”

Instead we perpetuate the crimes committed by our monarchy!

The deal could also mean allow the government to sidestep some public finance rules on borrowing, potentially giving it more financial flexibility. But it would also give the King an income boost. Although most profits from the Crown Estate go to the Treasury, a proportion – 12 per cent – goes directly to the King. That means if the projects are successful, the monarch could receive a higher income. This week it emerged that the royal family would receive a £45m windfall due to rising profits from the Crown Estate, largely driven by the construction of multiple offshore wind farms. Read more, here. (This paragraph taken from and article today in the ‘i‘ newspaper.)

Our new government could save the billions it needs to find if it properly taxed Facebook, Google and Amazon, to name just a few.

Why not start small with the Crown Estate? The people would applaud the government because they would understand what had been going on for the last 700 years!

Yet another reason for the abolition of the monarchy.

The British people deserve to be freed from this completely unnecessary feudal hangover from the middle ages.
