Pope’s butler in unholy mess – jailed in Vatican!

“Evil & corruption was everywhere” says the Pope’s former butler, Paolo Gabriele

This naïve yet probably honest man actually thought that by exposing corruption in the Vatican. He exposed the two faced underhand power struggles in the Vatican elite.

He thought he was doing the Roman Catholic Church a favour – he even thought the Pope and Cardinals would be pleased!

The Vatican has confirmed Saturday, May 26, 2012, that the pope’s butler Paolo Gabriele, he holding the umbrella, was arrested in an embarrassing leaks scandal. Spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said Paolo Gabriele was arrested in his home inside Vatican City with secret documents in his possession.

Now it seems and for some strange reason, which I can fathom, it is the butler who faces prison and not the Pope!

It is clear to all but brainwashed Catholics that the ‘faith of ages’ is the most monumental political power and tax free cash generating organisation ever conceived by the wit of man.

The mafia comes a close second but even there, some might suggest that they are two faces of the same regime!

The lower orders are taken in while the ruling elite know better. Once again I trot out my usual suspects where this has been spotted before:-

Seneca (4 – 65 BCE) “Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.”

Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 – 1821)

  • “Religion is excellent stuff for keeping common people quiet.”
  • “Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich.”
  • “All religions have been made by men.”

Heinrich Heine (1797 – 1856) “In dark ages people are best guided by religion, as in a pitch-black night a blind man is the best guide; he knows the roads and paths better than a man who can see. When daylight comes, however, it is foolish to use blind, old men as guides.”

Charles Dickens (1812-1870) “I believe the spreading of Catholicism to be the most horrible means of political and social degradation left in the world.”

Why do we keep forgetting the wisdom of these these men? 🙁

PS:- Do have a look here at the Pope welcoming Robert Mugabe to the Vatican last year – hee hee!

PPS: The Vatican had already warned of legal action against the author, Italian journalist Gianluigi Nuzzi. That was after he broadcast letters in January from the former No. 2 Vatican administrator to the pope in which he begged not to be transferred for having exposed alleged corruption that cost the Holy See millions of euros in higher contract prices. The prelate, Monsignor Carlo Maria Vigano, is now the Vatican’s US ambassador. (Ed: ROFL). 😉
